Cheddar Bay Sausage Balls Recipe

Ingredients:

1 lb ground sausage
2 cups biscuit baking mix (like Bisquick)
1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup buttermilk
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried parsley flakes
¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Cooking spray

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, biscuit baking mix, shredded cheddar cheese, buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, dried parsley flakes, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Mix until all ingredients are well combined.

Shape the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Lightly spray the tops of the sausage balls with cooking spray. This will help them turn golden brown during baking.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the sausage balls are cooked through and golden brown.

Check for doneness by ensuring the internal temperature of the sausage balls reaches 160°F (71°C).

Once done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.

These Cheddar Bay Sausage Balls are perfect for parties, gatherings, or as a delicious snack. They’re savory, cheesy, and full of flavor, making them a crowd-pleaser!
